Sustainability & Ethics Policy

Ethical, Environment & Sustainability Policy:

Thirst Merch are dedicated to operating under ethical and environmentally friendly practices during our production processes.

We're working hard to continue refining these processes because it's a commitment we don't take lightly. One of our main founding goals was to remove plastic packaging entirely from all orders we ship, and we're proud to say that since launch we achieved this! You can find out about our packaging and environmental policy as a whole below: 

• All of our staff are paid above the national living wage, regardless of age.
• Our DTG printers use only water-based inks. They're OEKO-TEX® approved (they don't contain any regulated or unregulated chemicals harmful to the environment).
• Our catalogue offers organic and where possible fair wear accredited garments.
• All the excess and waste cardboard and paper we produce is recycled.
• Waste ink is unavoidable, but we dispose of ours responsibly.
• Failed prints are also unavoidable, all products that fail quality checks are donated to charity. 
• DPD, one of our delivery partners, have a carbon neutral commitment.
• The packaging used to ship all orders is 100% plastic free (with the exception of canvases which use a bio-degradable bubble wrap for protection). 
• We offset our Carbon Footprint by funding the planting of trees in the North West of England. 

We're all working towards a more ethical and sustainable world. As a company, Thirst Merch is committed to making sure that everything we do is carried out ethically and we expect no less from our suppliers.­ 

Our industry is, unfortunately, one that has a bad reputation for ties to sweatshops. We don't agree with sweatshops, and we'd love to live in a world where each employee is paid a fair wage for the work that they do. We're proud to say that our own employees are paid above the national living wage regardless of the position they hold within the company.­ 

We believe that it's important to be aware of the ways in which garments are supplied and manufactured, and in turn, ensure that the products we offer comply with the laws and regulations in the countries in which they operate. Thirst Merch will not knowingly trade with any brand or supplier that does not comply with these laws and regulations.­
